BUMP N GRIND 2
VARIOUS ARTISTS
Universal Records
Ranking 8.5/10

"Bump N Grind 2" is back with another energy-filled sensual mix. This is not romantic and mellow music, it peaks at a level higher, but without entering the domain of rap and/or dance. The albums 16 tracks balance themselves quite pristinely between, pure R&B and rap/dance. Thus creating the ideal atmosphere for tha bump & Grind. Even more impressive, this little compilation is able to capture the moment, as nearly every song lends it self to some sort of sexual desire/act.

The album start off with up pace tracks that lend to the bounce. These tracks include one of my favorite songs of all time, in "Hey Lover" performed by Boyz II Men & LL Cool J. It also features the huge hits: "No Diggity" by Blackstreet, "Too Close" by Next and "Pony" by Ginuwine. The album then progresses to a more laid back position with smooth R&B tracks by Dru Hill, K-Ci & Jojo and Brian McKnight. Unfortunately none of these were huge hits, but they were well chosen as they are some of these artists' better songs. Then when least expected, enter the funk! The last four tracks are classics, of which at least two you should recognize. They include songs by Barry White (greatest bump N Grind artist of all-time) with his "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe", as well as Marvin Gaye's, "Let's Get It On".

This compilation is quite impressive. It features nearly all hits, but only one from this year. If you're a Bump N Grind kind of person, then this album is a must. If you like to take it slow, then you probably shouldn't go popping this disc in. After all, once it's in, there's no turning back. This mix is worth picking up as long as you don't already have most of the songs. Or unless you are already sick of most of these tracks.
