Ranking 1.5/10

I'll admit it. Whenever I get an album of a less than prominent No Limit Records' artist, I tend to have low expectations. This however, is to the artist's advantage because it will take much less to impress me. Unfortunately Magic is not able to use this advanage. Magic's album, "Thuggin" is a weak pâté of rhythm-less lyrics, weak No Limit beats and relatively ineffective featured artists (exceptions being Mia X and C-Murder). Magic even tries his hand at R&B, but flows like maple syrup on a cold winter day.

"Puff Puff" was the most impressive track. An indo-laced beat, with a catchy chorus. It kinda of reminds me of Cypress Hill's "I Wanna Get High" off their album 'Black Sunday'. Other above average songs are "Wobble Wobble", "Club Thang" and the Mia X portion of "Thank You Lord For My Life".

This was definitely a weak and ill produced album. Magic needs to work on his flow, beats and his R&B voice. Unless you are the biggest of the big No Limit records follower, then there is no need to buy this album.
