The self-proclaimed king of dancehall is back with yet another highly anticipated release, Tropical Storm. This album is his fifth in the last two years, however it's only his first major label release since 2000's heralded Art and Life.

No doubt Tropical Storm has a great deal to live up to, seeing that Beenie Man's last two major label releases were garnished with the smash hits, 'Who Am I' and 'Girls Dem Sugar.' Fortunately for Beenie Man, Tropical Storm is yet again another audial treat.

This album's reggae and dancehall vibe is climaxed by its catchy choruses and impressive beats at the hands of The Neptunes, DJ Clue and others. 'Bossman' is the best cut, as its beat and flow will leave your head bopping. Sean Paul & Lady Saw's featured verses fully complement this Neptune produced track. Other impressive tracks include 'Gangsta Life,' 'Street Life,' 'Bad Girl' and 'miss L.A.P.' Despite featuring Janet Jackson and being moderately catchy, the first single, 'Feel It Boy', pales in comparison to the majority of the album.

Having been making records ever since he was a kid (as far back as 1986), this Jamaican phenom is gaining momentum towards a legendary status. Tropical Storm further solidifies Beenie Man's position as an established international star and watch for it to take him to the next level.
